Methinks there's at least a little hypocracy being bandied about in this thread.

Oh I'm sorry!

I don't think I'm being a hypocrite but if i've said anything wrong, I apologize.

I just think it's a waste..... he was a really nice horse and it's, well... I won't say anything more.

I don't care about Dressage one way or another but someone who lectures others who mock some of the things you feel strongly about has perhaps built a glass house.

Not that it matters, but it doesn't appear that you understand dressage at all, and are mocking it out of ignorance.

I'm not fighting...nor am I even mildly annoyed. In fact, I'm on the phone. I'm just pointing it out. Maybe I'm wrong....but it seems that way to me.

it is as much a sport and athletic event as racing....parhaps more in some cases because a horse must be trained to do a lot more than go forward and swap leads.....and certainly requires a more capable pilot.

There are far worse fates than being a dressage horse ... Those that mock have little idea of the skill it takes to do it well ... To the uninitiated it may be like watching grass grow, but it is hard ... Maybe a little like Zen ... Many do not get it ... But it is nothing to be scoffed at ---and at a basic level helps all horses with soundess and coordination ... Seattle Slew was a klutz as a baby, and Paula Turner asked him to do a surprising amount and level of dressage to balance him ... I am sure it helped ... Mock not from what ye do not know ... That said, Miss SC, of course we are still friends .....

It's frustration built up from lack of posts from BBB.

lets not forget that giving a horse a second career is what keeps them from being dinner....or breaking down on the track because they were forced back into a job they were no longer capable of doing after injury.

Kinda agree here... dressage is actually very tough and teaches a horse how to use their hind end. A lot of t-breds off the track are very heavy on the forehand and it's a tough habit to break.
