I may be wrong but I think Tawana Brawley and the Duke liar were brought up because Jackson and Sharpeton ran to their defense based only on race and then they were proved to be liars. If they had been white girls J & S wouldn't have cared at all.
How does that make Nascar's post racist?

Not all of us here are.......

but it doesn't make us racists.

The original post was about a specific topic and Jackson's remarks about same...throwing Sharpton and Lewie into the mix is typical of the responses I read here and no...mentioning them doesn't make one a racist or their post racist BUT Tawana and Crystal have nothing to do with the topic, except for being black. Sure Sharpton bloodied his own nose with the Brawley mess but he was not part of the original subject himself until Nascar started throwing names of black folks around. What does "bleeding heart" have to do with anything? When did I call Nascar a racist? I was very careful to state that I don't know the individual and that it was the post not the person that I referred to as racist. Your oversimplification of the issue is interesting but not enough to keep me involved in a debate that, as usual, quickly deviates from the subject at hand to folk's tirades.

At least some one agrees with my post. Sorry Somerfrost. It would only take time for Sharpton and the rest of his croonies to come out of thier holes and try to get some publicity.

Somer,

When are you going to understand that not everyone is racist? Racism is seeing a person as 'different.' The fact that Rev Jackson, Al Sharpton and the above mentioned morons are ridiculous has NOTHING to do with their color but EVERYTHING to do with the fact that they are wrong just about all of the time. I am so sorry I clicked on this thread. You're accusing someone of being a racist because they happen to have a different opinion than your own? Unreal...

And for the record, you're racist yourself if you even notice that anyone is a different color. Martin Luther King wanted equality... he didn't want favoritism. That is something that Rev Jackson doesn't understand.

Problem is that I never called anyone a racist, what I did say is that was a racist post. Seems like folks must be in a hurry...never take the time to read what I post, just jump in with tirades about what I don't "understand". Folks make racist remarks all the time, doesn't make them racist...I even repeated myself (god, how many times), I don't know Nascar and don't especially care to...and Nascar, that's not me saying "bad" things about you, it's simply a statement of fact...that post may or may not reflect a mindset. His subsequent (recent) posts seem to show much more depth so again...I'M NOT CALLING HIM A RACIST (maybe someone will notice if I use caps)! And Cajungator, you should look up the word "racist"...racism isn't simply noticing differences in color etc...it's downright silly to make such a statement in the first place...EVERYBODY notices physical differences...a pretty girl, a handsome man, a scar, a missing leg or arm...etc etc. Racism implies power and the use of same...there have been many philosophical debates whether any disenfranchised group can even be racist...not getting into that here, this constant oversimplification of complex social concepts makes any meaningful dialogue impossible. Finally...I suspect I'm a bit more familiar with Dr King's principles and mindset than some...again, your statement is vastly oversimplified!

Sorry, I forgot about you Pants (easy to do given the content of your posts)...not sure what the remark about "teenage daughters" is supposed to mean...is that the best you can do to avoid the question? I singled you out originally cause I knew the type of response I'd get from you...same as always, predictable if nothing else. I guess I offended you cause the remarks you shot back with were much more bitter than usual...sorry, I figured since you enjoy ridiculing others you'd have thicker skin.
