Funny cide in washington park ??

PD would KILL fc?? maybe a couple years ago, pd's best, when he won against mineshaft and congaree. but he's not quite the same as he was then. i think it would be an interesting race. and now declans moon is back as well. thank goodness for geldings....

maybe they should have a gelding incentive fund! pay out a bigger purse to those without their..er...essentials...

I do think Perfect Drift is good for about 8-10 Beyer points more than Funny Cide these days when both are their best. Perfect Drift, however, will do anything to keep himself out of the winner's circle so he could conceivably run well below his potential to lose by a head, and generally does it seems. Maybe he thinks the camera steals his soul...if thats the case he should tell Barbara Livingstone to stay away. Perfect Drift is great for second but has no heart to win - Funny Cide on the other hand has all the heart to win and I'd love to see both here or against one another in the future. Lets also not forget that Perfect Drift is still competitive against Grade 1 competition - Brass Hat, Buzzards Bay, Flower Alley, Borrego, Lava Man, etc. in the last two years. It has taken a strong drop in class for Funny Cide to regain his form against Nolan's Cat, Gold and Roses, West Virginia, etc. Perfect Drift right now IMO is a much better horse and will earn several times what Funny Cide will this year, but if the two went head to head it would be much closer than it should be.

are you kidding me MR BEYER?LOL , that 99 beyer in the foster is a joke if no one doesnt think pd broke 100 at least 102, whoever gave out a 99 for that race was sleeping. i think bris gave drift a 102 or 103, beyer your biased as hell, NO HEART TO WIN whatever roses he won last year he gets barley nipped at the wire couldnt see seek gold to dig back down, that race was as good as a win, you say he has no heart to win he's only lost and took alot of 2nds to THE BEST HORSES IN THE GAME AND HORSES OF THE YEAR mineshaft congaree, plestaly perfect, roses in may, saint liam, gz, i could go on and on trust me roses he HAS THE HEART TO WIN

I was agreeing with you. I said Perfect Drift is far superior to Funny Cide. As for no heart to win - yeah he won ONCE last year against junk and tell yourself he couldnt see Seek Gold yada yada yada. Guidry was all over him - at least 20 whips - and he just wanted to be with the pack. Same goes for his loss to Roses in May in the Whitney two years ago. He just doesnt want to win - pack mentality like a lot of horses have - its an animal instinct not wanting to be away from the pack and he doesnt see himself as the alpha male. Settle down.

if he gets enough points to make the bcc, he could do some damage there. he trains and lives at CD!

I agree, Perfect Drift is a very good horse. Is nearly a lock to run 2nd/3rd and I'd go as far as to guarantee that he hits the board in the Classic. Even at seven he still runs like a young horse and if he stays healthy he should earn $1 million + this year easy. He's that good and dependable. I just dont think that he wants to win and he has done little to prove otherwise. His move in the Foster was pretty awesome catapulting on the outside but when he gets alone the pack mentality kicks in and he doesnt seem to like running alone. No big deal - its an instinct!

i agree im not so much concerned about lava man or invasor as i am flower alley, drift will run another big one in the bcc

he has to have the POINTS to get in, or wait to see if the panel picks him as one of the 7.

he needs the win in the wash park , and a win or place in the PC to get the points.

he trains at churchills trackside and not at cd , but he clearly runs well at cd so not a bg problem good part is he gets a good nights rest in his own stall and a quick jaunt to the track

a win is a win be it grade2 or 1 so for you to say he doesnt have the heart to win , last years wpk dont give me that junk crap cause as if you say he didnt have the heart he would have found a way to lose that day also. and losing by a nose i consider a win you are splitting hairs here to think he didnt have the foster a nose to me means nothing , he left the rest of that field in his wake and that was as good as a win most peoples eyes

i understand the pack concept and somewhat agree but i think there is still maybe 1 or hopefully 2 more grade 1's in it for him i believe he is that good yet. you have to admit that the foster should have been another grade 1 for him and that was not pack mentality at all but just bad racing luck. agree or disagree about that race?

I think it sucks anytime you get nipped by Seek Gold at the wire because Perfect Drift is far superior. I also think that Guidry was all out on Perfect Drift, but neither saw Seek Gold until much too late. Would he have won if he had seen Seek Gold earlier, who knows? Is he the better horse? Without a doubt. I also think that he has some more wins in him, but Guidry is going to need to give him the perfect ride. If he gets him up with an eighth or even sixteenth to go, Drift will start looking around and that's not a good thing. He needs to get him up right at the wire and with the perfect ride, he can do great things!

that i agree with you 100% with saturday, he does need the perfect ride , i say he went to the whip to early in the foster keep him as close as you can stalk , swing wide cause he hates being inside, sit and wait a little longer then the top of the stretch to ask him and i think good things will happen sixteenth pole or there abouts, but i agree with you above
