Hong Kong has the biggest horse racing betting turnover in the world (by some distance, too), because there is so much to be won there is a huge amount of corruption. I'm not saying it goes on in the highest level of races, but it does go on. One horse cannot stop corruption, neither can a governing body. It takes the sport as a whole to come together and stop it. We see some sort of corruption fairly often over here, and in America it is the same. The more betting turnover/money to be won the more corruption there will be. Now, i'm not dumbing down the racing at all. I watch as much as i can, but the time difference often stops me from doing so. I love watching the big racing and seeing how popular it is over there.
