The only reason that they would have liked to win is because he was still undefeated and they thought he might be able to stay undefeated for a long time. I agree with you that he ran well. I think he will get a lot out of the race. With regard to whether he was worth a bet or not, I wouldn't have bet him at 2-5. However, if Areyoutalkintome was in the race and if DM would have been even-money, I would have definitely bet DM at even-money. I doubt he would have been even-money. He would have probably been 4-5. I would have considered betting him at 4-5. At 3-5 I would not have bet him.
