![]() ![]() you can talk about how La Traviata is a monster doesn't change the fact that the late scratch was unfortunate for people that are in a situation where you don't get the track announcements after they give the changes first thing in the morning. The pick 4 with my pick would have paid over $1k. That is the only reason I risked my money. I would never do it for a $80 pick 4 I never had a prayer after they scratched Featherbed, a horse at least on paper is capable of keeping pace with La Traviata. I think whoever scratched the horse late needs to give me a refund of the $9 I wasted.

I really don't understand what you are talking about with the Giacomo reference. Are you just suggesting that when the pace is suicidal up front less talented closers can sometimes pick up the pieces as he did in the '05 Derby? If so, nobody would disagree with you there, but I don't think it is an apt comparison. That race had a designated rabbit and was 10f. Featherbed was not a rabbit, the race was at 6f instead of 10f, and Giacomo won by a neck while LT won by 11 lengths. |

![]() I thought maybe the trainer left his cobra venom at Keeneland and the horse wouldn't like being headed.. the pace never developed because the Pletcher horse scratched.
Saratoga is supposed to be the Graveyard of Champions not this year wouldn't want anyone to have to take a bitter pill
