it's been that way for the last few years.....

looking at it this time, says $1500 and finals spot to tomorrow's winner, but only NHC for finals. If that's true, then they changed it from their last contests.

Top 100 from tomorrow qualify for the October 20th contest, which is where they are giving away the 3 entries. ALL entries have to be in by 2pm EST.

Sorry but no Vegas trip for the winner. Cash and a chance to get to Vegas in the later contest.

Very hard to believe someone could win this contest, then finish in the top 3 in the next contest, and then win the big contest. So winning today would be nice but getting in the Top 100 would be a great accomplishment.

The real way to get in is through a twinspires contest. They offer a $1,000,000 bonus if you win the Vegas contest after you qualify in one of their contests.

I am in the one at Arlington on September 8th for that exact reason. I am up against it though because I only have one entry, where people will have 6-10 because they get family members and friends to sit with them for a 'cut' to have multiple opportunities

How did everyone else do today?

I had the winner of the Louisana and Del Mar races and the place of the Ellis Race.

With all the chalk, I think my total of $27.60 should get me to at least qualify in the top 100. Thoughts?

$28.60 for me, but it should have been higher. Unfortunately, I am an idiot. Here is what I did:

Two of my original horses scratched, and instead of simply moving my alternate selection up to the top pick, I chose different horses for the top spot. Both original alternates ended up winning. Luckily, my newly selected top picks both ran 2nd, so I got a few points in spite of my stupidity. But I would have been at $39.20 for the day if I had just entered my picks and not changed anything.

8 races, 0 winners, 5 seconds (including 30-1 Coragil Cat in Arlington's 10th).
