![]() It's a weird how quickly life can turn on one. Just a month or two ago he was looking healthy and serenading Jenine Edwards on TV. Best wishes Merv for full recovery.
It has to be trying times in the O'Neil barn with their best owner and groom spending time in the hospital.

![]() I am a long time viewer of Merv. He's been a credit to the game and I hope he gets well soon.

![]() Apparently he's now gravely ill but Entertainment Tonight also said the latest news is he had a good night last night so there's hope. Merv's such a life force. I hope we get to enjoy this wonderful man for a long time to come. I don't mean to be anything other than optimistic but I just felt like saying that I don't think it'd be out of line to consider Merv as one of those people you ultimately honor with race named after him (just bringing that up makes me feel like I'm saying I don't expect him to make it and I don't want to think about it like that). He could recover and live another 20 years, who knows, but the feeling shining out of him when he sings "My Old Kentucky Home" is magic. He's done a lot for the sport I feel and at some point they should consider recognizing him as they did Bob Lewis.
