Any horse can break a leg. You might as well retire Rags, Street Sense, Curlin, The Tin Man, Evening Attire, The Green Monkey, and any other popular horse that I'm not thinking of.

Why even have horse racing if you aren't going to use perfectly healthy stars?
It's hypocrisy to me. No horse goes undefeated their whole career. Yet the whole world expected nothing less and completely bashed every race he was in.

Count me in with the crowd that is glad they retired him.
I can't blame the yellow-bussers for wanting their star to go out with a stakes win. It was a nice ending. He is seven now and his best years were clearly behind him. Not very many horses retire healthy after a stakes win, and I am glad that they had the chance and (for once) the good sense to take advantage of that chance.
I completely fail to see how he was "paraded around like a freak show."

It would have been great to see him win the Triple Crown, or any other gelding, for that matter. That is the only way that I want to see it done, with a gelding...
