guess they'll know more after the vet checks her, but so far she seems ok...maybe not quite back to 100% after her fever.

I never thought we would see her race again. Way the hell too much money at stake to have her loose or injured...

Its not about the money with her owners. They already have money trees in both front and back yards to shake. They'll do whats best for her, which might not be what people necessarily want.

partly money, partly a lot of owners of mares who suddenly were scrambling for a breeding with a danehill colt.

this from the bloodhorse mag after the belmont:

"We are at the stage in our lives where we like to enjoy our horses, and I certainly wouldn't want to retire any of them to be become stallions or broodmares at age 3. Now sometimes, because they are high-strung animals, you don't have any option. But in a perfect world, we would keep them all running through age 4."--micheal tabor

In the year 2000...

true.

we just have to hope they weren't blowing smoke. i'd imagine they are planning to keep her and add her to their broodmare barn, so it's not as tho her value is a worry, other than to themselves. i don't know that she could harm that to be honest, she has shown herself to be pretty special.

as for future, pletcher said she came back ok, they jogged her and she looked fine. maybe a bit of over-zealousness on the part of the rider.

Thank you!!! So this whole "oh they are in it for the sport of it", doesnt fly with me. To retire that colt for no other reason but money shows where there intrest is. I dont think we will see her run agian. And if we do it will be some cream puff field so she can get another race into her for show then breed her.
