I was keeping trainers numbers how horses perform in their first race after leaving a particular barn.

Steve Asmussen was the worst. It took 43 horses for someone to finally win their first start post-Stevie A and that was an even money shot.

Surprising when you consider how squeaky clean his repute is.

I heard a stat, I want to say from Brad Free, that horses claimed away from Mullins have won at a 14% clip next out. Over that span (I assume he used a big sample size over a long period of time) Mullins had won at a 25% clip with claimers.

Basically, a marked dip in production from 25-to-14% when claimed away from him.

I think the numbers are worse with Levine, at least i think our mutual friend had some outrageous %'s

Yeah, Levine is another guy who can really move them up.

Wouldn't be shocked if horses claimed from him showed strong declines in form.
