His name was Shadow and i didn't know him, but i know that he was loved and that there are holes in the hearts of his family members.

Like many he is gone too soon, but like many his memory will someday bring a smile.

I know right now that day feels like it may never come, but it will.....

Someday will come.

Run in peace, good boy, and never feel pain again.

I am so sorry.

Unable are the loved to die. For love is immortality.

DRF.....

Like Mom Like Sons euthanized

Like Mom Like Sons, the promising 3-year-old colt owned by Howard Walton and trained by Sid Attard, was euthanized at the University of Guelph's veterinary clinic on Saturday.

The problems began when Like Mom Like Sons developed a stubborn pus pocket, and he subsequently foundered.

"We tried like crazy to save him, but there was nothing we could do," said Walton. "He was in a lot of pain."

Like Mom Like Sons won both of his starts here last fall impressively and ran his streak to four when he made his stakes debut in the six-furlong Woodstock here this spring. His only loss came in Pimlico's Grade 3 Hirsch Jacobs, in which he failed to make the lead and wound up fifth.

"He was probably one of the top sprinters here, if not the top sprinter," said Walton.

I watched that race, it didn't look good but it didn't look bad either, he was pulled up. Then nothing else was said. I wondered what the outcome was going to be. That's a shame.
