Recently, Shake You Down was claimed by Lake early in 2003 for 60k and went on to win five stakes that year and finished 3rd in the BC.

They had a list of the greatest "earners that were claimed". Lavaman just passed Budroyale for the top spot on Saturday.
I may still have the race on tape and I can look up the rest of the list when I get home if ya want.

Its one thing to take a horse for 50K or 60K and see them become a stakes winner; after all, older open 50-60K claimers generally run pretty fast. Beyer pars in the mid 90s. How about a horse claimed out of a M10000 who becomes a graded stakes winner? Lord of the Game was claimed out of the M10 race from WinStar back in December of 2004. I also remember a gelding named Recoup the Cash get claimed out of a 15000 NW2 and go on to become a graded stakes winner.

Wasn't John Henry a cheap claimer ($1500) at one time?
