I like him also...3000 hits should be HOF bound but it seems voters are becoming less impressed with certain numbers nowdays (fallout from drug era perhaps)...Sosa has 600 homers and folks are saying he shouldn't be in the Hall...hard for me to get!

Sosa is the 5th man to have 600 hr. These writers need to get off their soapboxes and just use their vote for the players that distinguished themselves from other players.

I agree, keeping a guy with Sosa's numbers out of the Hall would turn the HOF into a joke...a popularity contest like American Idol. There is already one absentee that tarnishes the Hall imo...

That's my boy HHH. Been an Astro's fan since I was a kid. (Still mad at Cesar Cendeno for not responding to my letter).

Biggio is the consumate professional buried in Houston. If he played his whole career in NY, he'd be a Superstar (or more of one than he already is).

I believe he's from just outside NYC. We saw the potential with him back in '89 and loaded up on his rookie baseball cards. There not worth a lot, but pointing him to future success back then means a lot.

Well, Bonds stands at 749 now, Aaron's 755 will fall soon, the question is will Bonds play next year? He wants 3000 hits and stands at about 2892/3 now, I don't see him getting over 100 more hits this year so he may well play next year yet. If so, he could come close to 800 home runs. By year's end, A-Rod should have about 515/520 and will turn 32. He will surely play 8-9 more years provided his health holds...280 divided by 9 equals about 31 per year...seems likely!

So...everything Arod hits over 31 is gravy for the next years....meaning he won't have to be hanging on if he does get injured for a time!
