i had scar tissue cleaned from my achilles tendon. doc said most people are 6 months, i tried to get through it in 4. i had a whole workout routine for 6 months before surgery and a rehab program for after surgery. everything worked well but 1 movement and i wasn't strong enough and it cost me! i was 12-18 months FULL recover, opposed to 6-12. something you might want to look into is some water rehab, after the stitches come out. it will keep the strength in his legs without the pounding. your local YMCA might have a aqua-arobics class and i did a workout called aqua-jog. i loved both and wish i'd known about it 25 years ago when i was still running track! good luck!!

i'll have to check into the water aerobics--no facility here, but i think there's a place about an hour from here he can go to. i guess i could always take him out to the river and push him in! joking!!
