Does the HBPA have an insurance deal where they pay half of catostophic losses in the event of a claim? Heard a rumor about that once, found it hard to believe.
In Ky and Fl they pay for 1/2 the claim price if the owner who made the claim has a signed card on file with the HBPA. There may be other states with the same deal. Of course they have to put the horse down in order to collect.
