To expand on Phil's answer, a RIDGLING is a colt who has one testicle that has failed to descend. While it's not a reproductive problem later on, it can be a physical issue as the entrapped testes can cause discomfort in a runner, limiting his stride. Funny Cide was a ridgling. Dominican was as well, and was severely impinged by the discomfort until being gelded. Darrin Miller told me that the horse's extension and whole way of going has changed since the surgery. (One reason that those saying he is strictly a Poly type are being short-sighted... He hasn't run on a dirt track SINCE the operation.)
