I read last night that Nifong will face charges, but the accuser won't.

I agree IF there is evidence that they committed a crime...they deserve what they tried to deny the Duke kids, a fair examination of all the facts and if necessary, a fair trial...not pandering to public outrage!

Let me chime in with this observation:

This female stripper was near the lowest rung of our society: poor, black, single mother, uneducated (but trying), and most importantly, a stripper. Put it all together and you get an individual who most likely has few defense mechanisms.

She shows up at this private party as a stripper for hire. There was no bodyguard, as is the usual, to maintain order. Thus, she was really scraping the barrel doing this job.

As a female, I find it REPUGNANT to know that a bunch of college boys would willingly use this pathetic human being for their own amusement. God only knows what went on there....but we know it wasn't rape.

Nifong had a duty to investigate and protect both the students and this pathetic woman. In no way am I excusing her--no matter what her circumstances she has no right to lie.

But, this should be a warning to everyone about treating people with dignity. Just because you CAN exploit someone (because of you income, gender or circumstances) you need to remind yourself that everyone deserves respect.

I'm telling you...something went on in that house. It wasnt' rape. But it wasn't pretty either.

I also agree! I was gonna start down this road but figured I had stirred the waters enough...it connects to my point about "equality" remaining a bad joke in our society. I think I have some idea what happened in that house but hopefully, as the remarks of the one Duke player seemed to indicate, some eyes were opened. When people are dehumanized, they become easy targets...a lesson history has tried to teach us again and again!

in the last couple of weeks at work, i had two separate incidents on work sites that indicated that men still tend to look to women for one thing....

and then a guy at work, who also is a minister, told me i should understand things like these will happen as long as i work around men!

yikes. thank goodness i know these are isolation incidents, and that most men can exert self-control.

i also think those of us who say we should all be equal truly believe that, and thus feel that everyone thinks that way as well. it's always dammed depressing to find that not everyone shares that view.

Of course the vast majority are decent.

I guess some work climates or situations breed bad behavior. You get a couple of loud mouths who have an agenda, and they can intimidate the rest of the group to mimic their behavior. It takes a real man to stand up to that.

Just keep thinking about your wife, daughter, sister, mom, etc. How would it be if they were the target of bad behavior.

Don't forget about all the abuse I take ...yet still remain quite snappy in nature.

Very amusing, in a Neanderthal kind of way.

Seriously, I wish you knew what it was like to be a female....just for 24 hours. All wise-cracks aside, the experience of being objectified by society would open your eyes.

Baba is a neanderthal and I agree with your point! From the bulimic runway models to the cheerleaders to prom queens and young people just trying to find their way and true identity are sucked in by constant ads for the next great thing..whether it's a new youth serum or a new way to take away all your pain....it is a tragedy to watch.

No...you're QUANTIFIED by society! Baba: you may want to talk with the Gieco caveman...I hear he has a gig coming up!

Michelle Malkin hosted the O'Reilly Factor tonight, and spoke with Mr. Shabazz who is involved with the New Black Panthers.

It was explosive, and indicative of everything I've been saying about this in the last two days:

Second video down. It's priceless. She's great.

LostTexan,
You got that right!
On a different thread, now locked, where two posters (imposters) demanded an apology from me, despite the fact that I was completely correct on all accounts, you are right. "Screw all of this being nice and asking for apologies."
Timm also learned the words from me, "it figures". He'll tell you what they really mean.
Ironic when the hunter becomes the hunted, NO?
In parting, I'll just tell those that refused to concede defeat and resorted to the weakest of all "arguements"-name calling, to read Proverbs 14:8+17.
Look it up.
I make no apologies. Others have a tough time with that.
