She broke well and was fowardly placed. She started to back up and the backstretch, and ran very green in the stretch.

1. Just hope she comes back OK.
2. Place her in an easier spot, maybe also a bit shorter
3. Have fun and don't start bickering amongst yourselves about what went wrong, because it didn't look like anything went wrong.

The funny thing is there is no bickering among the owners. All the bickering is with non-owners who never got the concept in the first place that we want a horse to race so we can enjoy owning a horse and couldn't give a damn if we made a penny off it.

Well, don't generalize too much. It seems that the non-owners are the only ones who are disparaging the placement and criticizing anything.

But there are plenty of non-owners who completely understand what you're doing and are only bickering to try to get the other people to shut up and stop worrying so much about the fact that she ran last in a KEE ALW race.

I, for one, completely understand what you're doing and would be doing it too if I had the money when they needed it. I'm loving watching this go on -- so just don't lump all the non-owners into the group that are criticizing.

Exactly, Sniper!!!! Thanks for that!!

Yesterday was great because I have a horse racing again. I put my money in because I can afford to lose it - but I couldn't afford not to miss the excitement generated by owning this horse.

I'm a happy camper today! And I think I might be even happier in two weeks since I'll be at Churchill on Sunday the 29th!!!! I'm already looking forward to her next race....

She might be one of those horses that only feels in her element on the lead, and with Nola Star going 22 and change, that scenario wasn't happening.

Oh well, just the fact that this whole thing came together is amazing, and she'll move forward from this for sure.

I didn't see it as being green. I just watched the replays, I think she was just tired. She tried to make a little run entering the turn and she quickened for a bit but could not sustain it and started fading.

I would not be discouraged by this race. She has speed. If she is dropped in class and turned back to a sprint she will be competitive, imo.

you are probably right, the swerving from being tired made it look green

I think she will be very competitive in the claiming ranks... Sumwon is a nice filly and was up against a tough field today!

Nothing too surprising, she was pretty badly outclassed there. Want to thank Chuck though for giving her a run in allowance company. I'm much happier with that then I would be if she ran back in a 30K claimer, ran huge first time of the turf, and was claimed to go onto have a nice career for someone else. Keep in mind the only one that lost anything by her running there today was Chuck who is relying on purse money to pay for the work he is putting into her. The best move for him financially was to put her in the spot she had the best chance of getting purse money even if it meant she got claimed. For him to put her there for us ahead of his own best financial interest was very selfless of him and shouldn't go unappreciated.

Totally agree. Thanks, Chuck, and all who worked with Sumwon to get her ready for this race. She Came Home safe and sound, and there will be other races.

Absolutely agree.

Plus, the way I look at it, she got one under her belt after the layoff, she got some exercise and some schooling, and it doesn't hurt to darken her pps a bit to get better odds next time out ('cause we know she's gonna' run back well in a softer spot).
