Why does this matter?? Unless the order of finish changes, this seems to be pretty moot. I can't imagine Round Pond's broodmare value increasing now that her margin of victory is increased.

I could be wrong, but wouldn't it affect the past performance lines as far as Beyers and fractional times go?

It would affect the Beyer figures slightly.

There are MANY uncorrected mistakes in the past performance lines of horses.

Thanks.
How do you usually spot them, from checking the charts or is that where the mistake originates? Or is it something you're more apt to pick up in watching the replay?

The chartcallers have very tough jobs....and will make more mistakes than people realize.

If you want an example of an uncorrected mistake---go look at the past performances for Mike Watchmaker's #1 ranked sprinter in the country, Smokey Stover.

In his defeat at Turf Paradice, the chart caller confused him with another horse in the race---and he was simply not racing in 8th place (9 lengths back) after the first quarter mile, and in 7th place after a half mile.

In that instance, Smokey Stover was wearing pink silks, and the horse he was confused with had pink blinkers.

That job does seem seriously tough. Do they have replays to rely on if need be or do they need to pass on the information as quickly as possible following the race?

I'll check out Smokey's pp's tomorrow afternoon, thanks for the example. Was he in different ownership? I thought Aleo's silks were orange-ish?

Orange-ish...Pink-ish...I don't know, I'm bad with colors myself.

everyone behind those two horses, but just minimally. Their times are correct (miesque's approval and round pond).
