Was a little green towards the end and then galloped out pretty strong. a horses third race is usually his best and his two TG numbers are comparable, which could signal an explosion.

The other great thing about this is if he wins this race, he likely only needs to get a 3rd in another graded stakes race to qualify for the Derby.

He has everything that is liked for a Derby Prospect, broke his maiden at two with two decent learning experience, lightly raced, staying pedigree.

My only questions are

1) Can he speed rate and/or rate 3rd/4th?

2) Will Gomez try to get cute on the nuts?

you could very well be right about notional. oneill has done this with 3 or 4 horses-huge 1st out beyers then never recovered. i like him adding the hood, his gd 6f work and the versatile style. tiago is a half to stockholder, i think and the connections had/do have very high expections for him. i dont have the sheets for SA's card, but if he paired up then Tenfold could be sitting on a monster race. his beyers are "paired up" but thats hardly reliable. what did he run on the rags/tg's? the pair up and if he can rate, as u point, could lead to a big race for tenfold. looking forward to it!

Tenfold had a slight move forward last out, so he essentially paired

and I misquoted, I thought this race was for 100k but it is 150k so esssentially if he wins this race, he will be in the Derby

He'll need another race in the money in a stakes to make it in if he wins today. Gander posted the top money makers in another thread, and this won't do it for Tenfold.

Scavs, Tenfold set some solid fractions and was long and controlling speed again and was done at the top of the stretch. not sure what type of horse he is, but he had no excuses today. Notional ran a good, relaxed/rated race, but im not sure how much further he wants to go.

Should have some company up front and will probably be 2nd choice at worst. He's also making his 3rd startin just over a month so we'll see.

You are correct, I was thinking of Tasuji (similar, odd named horses), who's now a 4yo. race getting ready to go off.

He looks like TIN FOIL to me.Won't close the door on his Derby chances just yet,but I wouldn't want to be holding a future on him. What a rat Notional is.Horses that need certain tracks are rats that shouldn't breed.

If he can learn to relax I think he'll be okay. I think he has a ton more upside than Notional who was the recipient of a very nice trip. Grapelli is one that I think we will be hearing about later.
I agree...Tenfold warmed up like a horse that was going to rocket out of the gate, he was 'on' today...with a little seasoning maybe he will relax more...I think it's too soon to say he can't stretch out, he set honest fractions and hung on for 2nd. Notional is destined to be completely burned out before summer (not saying he's not talented just saying he won't last)

the jury is still out on tenfold and maybe he needs more time to mature. i havent written him off, but i havent been impressed by him and thought that today's race set up perfecting for notional (getting blinkers, back at SA) and there wasn't much competition. notional will run on the "trail" but i dont currently see him as a legit derby contender b/c i dont believe 10f suits him.
