Day 31

Best bet- Race 6- #5 Sousa Summer
Loses Rosario, who gave him a perfect ride last time when he ran down a well meant horse. Should get plenty of pace to run at and he really seems to thrive here

Longshot: Race 3- #5 Unanimous Consent
I expect a much better effort today 2nd off the long break. At one point this one was one of Chad’s better 3 year olds. He’s a horse that needs a busy ride, so in retrospect Irad might’ve been a bad fit last time. Gets Manny Franco back, should get some pace to run at.

That'll get you back on track Hossy.. Great job in a tough race.

I used Sosua last time as a DePaula Play and just had co-owner Gary Barber Wednesday (and brought him up on air..) and then didn't use him yesterday..

Unanimous Consent was bad, but Sousa Summer got a prefect ride to just hold off Fauci who got an even better ride, paying $8.70 and $4

Meet totals
$248 wagered
$193.60 returned

Day 32

Best bet: Race 5- #3 Alternate Reality
Katie takes over for Jackie here and I think this one still has some upside. Was very game two back wearing down the leader who got away with an easy half. Throw out the Dwyer as he’s not in the class of those horses. As long as the field stays intact, should get pace to run in to and I think he will be coming beat of all late.

Longshot: Race 6- #5 Change of Command
I have a lot of thoughts about this race. I’ve heard rumblings that at least 4 of them can really run. I would love Air of Defiance if he was breaking from any other post than the rail. He’s a huge son of Quality Road and he outworked Slip Mahoney in the morning. I just think the rail will be his undoing here. They paid a lot of money for Wajda in March after he worked 10 flat while not being asked. I just didn’t like what I saw in the works I watched locally and want to give him one. Apollo Ten worked with strong debut winner Deterministic and held his own, but dam was all turf and best sibling to race was all turf as well. Fierceness might be a good one. Has looked fast and strong in the mornings and looks like the prototypical Pletcher good thing first out, but I’m going to take a shot with another one.

They paid over a million for Change of Command last fall at Keeneland. Dam was 0 for 3 in her career, but second dam won multiple stakes sprinting. He’s looked very good in the morning looking like he has much more run to give and I expect him to run very well. Im a little concerned that Shug has had such a tough meet but I think he has a good one here.

Best thing that happened to me yesterday was my mothers battery dying and having to go fetch her and get a new battery and replace it causing me to miss the opening legs of both late pick 5's.

Mage was awful, English Conqueror got nipped on wire at 11-1 and paid $11.40 to place.

Day 35

6 days left of what has been a long and challenging meet. More rain means off the turf today.

Best bet: Race 6- #5 First Deputy
You could go lots of different ways in this race. He got a race over the track and is going first off claim for Diprima who has had a slow meet but is crafty. Has handled wet tracks before. Should get some pace to run in to and I think he fits really well here.

Longshot: Race 8- #9 Pretti Xtreme
I have an issue with the contenders here, so I’ve landed on Pretti Xtreme. Movie Moxy was a vet scratch earlier and hasn’t run well here. Tough Street ran well last time but this is another step up. Signal From Noise was bad last time at 1/5 so why would I want her this time? Leave No Trace was bad last time and comes out of the worst BC Juvy Filly race ever. Olga Isabel has some upside but these are better horses and Tizzy in the Sky has upside but figures to get bet. I’ll take my shot with Pretti Xtreme who ran very well here last time. I don’t usually love horses moving away from Cox but Falcone has good numbers off the claim and this one has kept good company. Drawn outside other speed, hopefully Rosario doesn’t **** it up
