DTS - My investments will only continue to do well so long as there are American troops in Iraq to protect the private American companies that I (along with other wealthy Americans, including members of the Bush administration), have invested in... without this protection of my investments, I wouldn't have enough money to play the ponies So, of course, I believe the sacrifice of young American lives in a country that never attacked us is a wise decision. Poor, uneducated kids sacrificing their lives so that I can splurge on unnecessary luxuries is truly the American way! Without the loss of over 3,000 lives and 50,000 other casualties, I wouldn't be able to afford to go to the Kentucky Derby this year! Now that's outrageous!!!!This is my very simplified way of mocking the decisions America's leaders have made, but isn't that kind of what this war comes down to? Protecting the investments of rich Americans with the sacrifice of the middle and lower classes? Really f'n sad... p.s. go with the short bobby socks, wearing knee highs with saddle shoes will only make you look like a slut!

Good luck at the K D. We're all looking forward to it. Americans know how to sacrifice. It's the price we pay for living in the greatest country on the planet...nothing sad about it at all. And thanks, I don't want to look like a slut. Enough of those around. I shaved my legs last night. Feels pretty good as the pants hang nicer. I did get a little carried away though, arm pits ya know. No matter, it will grow back. Man alive! I'm so enjoying my new found sanity! |

Well, thank goodness he's got you, DTS, as Bush has apparently lost Utah:
http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_4966131 Of course, Utah is well-known for its liberal bias. ![]()

That was a pretty good article. Thanks. Now, between you and me, do you really think any state that has a grasshopper on top of their capitol dome is credible? Heck, they do hold a disproportionate amount of electoral votes, but do you think anyone really takes their "take" seriously? Next thing you know, they'll be lining up behind Barney Frank. I can just see it now...Utah goes to the socialists. Those folks in Utah are insane! Their land is very beautiful though. I wonder who had it first? This thread is all about sanity, doncha know? Hey Genuine Risk,
I'm really not going out of my way to bash Utah. My previous post could have sounded a bit harsh. For a state that has the Bonneville Salt Flats and has gifted us with Senators Orrin Hatch and Bob Bennett, they deserve to be heard. Afterall, they have outlawed all forms of gambling in their state, so they must know what they're doing. Heck, their "state rock" is coal. And to think they took the European honey bee as their state insect, well, just my opinion but I think they could have chosen one of their own bugs rather than that stinger. Just my opinion, but I think the folks in Utah should be listened to, and listened well. They're sounding sane to me. |

I haven't read "Great Brain", yet. Heck, I'm still taking my time with "My Pet Goat". Looking for underlying meaning and symbolism. It takes time! btw, if you want a very good "children's book", try "Arthur for the Very First Time", by Patricia McGlaughlin. Surprised it hasn't been made in to a movie. Very good one it is.
