I once had an opportunity to go to Lonestar Park, but turned down. I had to take my father-in-law to Dallas to see his lawyers. He was employed by a company that made aluminum here in Arkansas. Somehow as part of the manufacturing process he was exposed to asbestos therefore he had a claim against his former employer. I was elected to take him because he was afraid of driving in Dallas. Actually, he was afraid of driving in Little Rock which is probably only a tenth as big as Dallas.
As for Asmussen, he seems to go for the Stakes races nowadays and seems to have an entry or two for stakes offered at a lot of the smaller tracks like Zia and Sunland and others.
