Seems that way which doesnt make sense to me at all. Derby, Preakness, Woodward and Wood and he gets an I. I figure he would be a S.

I think he stated his reasonings pretty well for that one in the body of the article.

I think Dr. Roman's approach to the breed is interesting and should be read by all breeders and people interested in pedigree. But with that said, although I think there can be some valueable tools in his findings with Chef's and Dosage, its more of a very loose barometer of common sense.

I will say that Dr Roman's approach is very interesting. I love the read and his analysis. I have recently gotten interested in pedigree.

You may also find reading about the x-factor interesting as well.

He does, but what I dont understand is he seems to not give any influence to the dam. Maybe the speed inheirted to PC offspring is coming from the Dam. He used Pleasant Tap as an example. Maybe PT got his speed from Never Knock. I am thinking unreasonably or am I missing something here?

Pleasant Tap ran a great race only to fall short to AP Indy in that BC Classic. He unleashed a furious run at the end there.
