Don, even if Alwaysmining let you (and a lot of others) down, I hope you still enjoyed your Preakness Day crabcakes, seasoned with Old Bay and washed down by some National Bohemian ("brewed on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay").

Must admit, I didn't like Alwaysmining or War of Will. Thought the former might get caught up in a speed duel with Warrior's Charge and just did not think that WOW was all that good. Some of those races he ran at FG had a crawling pace. I pretty much had the Preakness pace figured out, but not the horses that would benefit from it, except for Owendale. Now, what to do in the Belmont with WOW? If I bet him, that will likely be the kiss of death for him and he won't win another race.

Hey Cal, and I thought I the was only one that put a double whammy on a horse I picked and bet to win.

Plenty of horses beat me, but I try not to let that happen more than once, but sometimes, I just can't learn my lesson and one beats me multiple times in a year. It looks like this year's version is WOW. Last year's was Quip and he did it again this year in the Oaklawn Handicap. It's a perfect example of "Fool me Once" and you know the rest, but I will have to include him in my picks for the Belmont, even though I know that will be like giving him and probably myself the evil eye.

I found a new way to bet these races.
Pick the horses you like... ignore them.
Then pick entries that couldn't make it around the track without a trailer.
You will win every time
