The 6 1/2 furlong down the hillers are a guessing man's game. I love betting these but only once (Shadow of Illinois) did I ever make a decent score on one. Thats about 1 for 60 to be honest. Anybody who says they can handicap these races are kidding themselves. Nothing but a guess. Like Scuds says, horses that get the least screwed up rides win. Either that or the f'ing chalk.
I considered Billy's Rat a contender but not really for the win. Didnt think there was enough speed to set up the rat's late rally. But he has won before at huge odds. |
