Isn't that offset by the new shooters cheating by not racing in all 3 legs? LOL Geez have a heart, Shirley you are being tongued in cheek?

Why would you want to break your hoss' spirit running in a race you have a slim chance to win against a stone cold runner, when there are races aplenty that you can win and then take your best shot further down the line? Why get beat up if you don't have to ?

Should there an asterisk next to Secretariat’s Belmont as only 4 horses showed up to challenge him?

this is from another Horse Racing Forum. the fellow is a very good 'capper and poster.

The Belmont will be Justified 4th race in 70 days going into it. He’ll be meeting fresh horse ready to ambush him, has to prove a new distance also. NY isn’t going to allow him anything easy during the running either. He has to train good to get the new longer distance and can’t afford any setbacks. I believe the schedule catches up with him in the Belmont and that’s where the Apollo Curse is really going to catch up with him. Hey if he wins it I’ll give him his just dues, but I’m not seeing it.

Horses with 4 races within 70 days did very poorly.

Not to pick but don't most triple crown contenders run 4 races in less then 70 days. American Pharoah ran 4 within 60 days and 5 within 85. That's what makes it special and very challenging.

i agree in part, but does one think JUSTIFY is like or better then AMERICAN PHAROAH?

I don’t know but all he needs to do is be better than the horses he faces in 18 days. It doesn’t much matter if he’s equal to or better than AP.

What the heck does better really mean? Who would win a hypothetical match race? Who would be better at what distance?
Assuming Justify wins the TC, his established accomplishments are extraordinary, shared by the very best of the breed, isn't that enough?

He'll prove it on June 9 if Baffert has him ready and Mike rides like Mike rides. With them both and an equine like Justify its hard to think of another result than etching his name on the list of true greats.

No. The owner of Secretariat did not keep any of her other horses out of the Belmont so that Secretariat would have a better chance to win.

We'll hear this mantra the next two & half weeks ...... if he's good enough to get the distance & "Big Sandy", he'll WIN!

so whats the matter with vinno.
he won the wood on the track, skipped the preak...yet there's no love for the liquor
at 8 to 1...hmmm

i like him on the board

Bravazo is getting a lot of attention and low odds to boot...dont know if he warrants those odds.

justify ..bob thought he was a good sprinter till they put him on the trail..there are legitimate questions surrounding his pedigree and stamina.
but i will not exclude him from the super ticket...if they run a double rabbit..first to 6f..then another to 9f..he will definitely cave.

and if justify wins the TC its a hollow victory,,the same folks who own justify own AUDIBLE who has a legit shot at defeating justify here.
I can't ever recall a situation were a good colt has his career twisted like audibles to make another colt look better than he might possibly be..can you ?

====

BOLT IN THE MET MILE...HUH ?

wouldn't he be better off with a win ion the 7f colt race..gr2..woody stephens i think its called

good day for racing only problem is , the day is not on a payday wekend like the derby and preak.

got 15 bucks at tvg..i'll see where the day takes me, if i have cash for the belmont by 5:45..i'll bet.
i can't fund tvg today..so lets hope i can turn my 15 into 50 by 5 oclock

1. Vino won the Wood at Aqueduct, not Belmont.
2. Baffert always thought Justify was a router...he thought he could win the KD before even running in his maiden race.
3. Audible winning would be nearly impossible being that he’s not even in training right now.

so what happens if Audible runs in the travers and defeats Justify..or will Bob have him in hiding for the BCC...another out of competition colt that suddenly will emerge just that much stonger..

if Justify wins in Elmont..a BIG IF, then he looses the Travers to Audible..how does that make Justify's TC look.., if he were to win (doubtful..no pedigree)

typing about hiding ...how about some out of competition drug testing on Mckenzie...

noooo.. not for double B...he is the reigning trainer de jour..can do no wrong...just ask the stewarts at SA, who seem to all need glasses when BB runs a pony

I might give a millisecond to valuing your opinion if it didn’t come from someone who modeled their screen name after the greatest horse that ever lived and cannot spell it correctly.
