![]() This forecast calls for SE winds to 40mph throughout the afternoon with gusts to 60mph starting around 5pm-6pm. Estimated rainfall is 2"-4". Trying to rush through the card by 3:30pm-4:00pm makes absolutely no sense.

![]() Apparently NYRA has requested permission from the Gaming Commission to offer the carryover money on opening day at Aqueduct. If permission is denied it will be held until opening day of the 2018 Belmont spring meet.

![]() Imagine the folks who handicapped the carryover, woke up and went to mass, got home , watched the 3 stooges and were ready for racing from Belmont Park only to find out that it was gonna rain and be windy so there was no racing. Winter racing is gonna be fun.

As for having handicapped a whole program, you can reuse the stakes for next weekend. But sure, let's throw some horses and jockeys on the track moving at 35mph into wind gusts of 40mph. That is not being a fan of the sport. |

If there is only one surface transfer in the sequence of the Pick 5 and/or Pick 6, previous days' carryovers are to be paid out. If more than one, then any previous carryover shall be carried over to the next day of the meet for the wager. Advertised guaranteed amounts for the Pick 6 are only paid out if there is a maximum of one surface transfer. Now, clearly there is a logical hole here with the "next day of the meet" concept. So, there are two logic options : [1] Have a mandatory payout at the next NYRA meet date (Aqueduct, Friday) ... or ... [2] Hold that cash until next Spring with a mandatory payout on Belmont's opening day (April 2018). Seems reasonable that Option [1] will be followed. |
