I like looking for stellar 2yo's way ahead of time as Derby horses to watch.... Then following their odds through those crooked assed future book pools and their 3yo prep season... Finally, when only a slight few of them actually reach the KY Derby starting gate(if any at all), the best part is when their going off odds are higher than any odds you could get in the future book pools....
Example- A friend of mine had $20 on Giacomo in the Derby future pool #1 at 25-1. We are sitting in the Orleans on Derby day and he says, "Giacomo has no chance to win here, at least it was only a $20 spot I wasted". As you all know he was 50-1 in the real pool and my friend failed to lay any more action on him. I love the horses... |

I agree with Scuds. EZ Warrior looks like a very good horse but I highly doubt he will be able to go 1 1/4 miles. I don't know if he will even get 1 1/8 miles. He is out of a Carson City mare named Carson Jen. I believe she was strictly a sprinter.

Wait a minute EZ Warrior is Sired by Exploit to which I recall is from Storm Cat. True he is by a Carson City Mare but distance is not influnced by the dam. If it was I would not pay 1.2 million for a sprinter-miler.
