Formulator . . . what the heck is that? I used to print mine out on paper but the home printer stopped working 5-6 yrs ago. And it saves paper too. So you plant a seedling every time you print out a days card, right?

Don't know if your joshing me or not, so I'll give you a straight answer. Formulator is a creation of DRF that presents pp's online in a manner that lets you cross reference data and rearrange material in all sorts of fantastic ways.

If you want to see the basic format of formulator, on this website go to "Selections", then "3/11 ROTD Contest ...G2 Tampa Bay Derby", then on entry #1 of that thread click on "Formulator PPs". Please keep in mind that those are in demonstration mode, so you can't utilize many of the real Formulator bells and whistles, such as calling up linked charts of races in the pp's, workout listings, Moss pace figures, jockey and trainer histories, and the like. At least it will give you a general idea.

They are not cheap, but provide a massive amount of information for the handicapper.

No, really I've never used it. I know of it but it's way too much work for my simpleton horse racing handicapping brain. Now if handicapping and betting were my livelihood, then I might partake in what on the surface seems very complex. The DG method works just fine for this forum and the few times I go to the track. No off track/on line betting here in Texas . . . good thing for me or I'd be wearing a barrel.

I will admit I handicap a little differently at the track with live racing. Nothing like being there, seeing them, smelling them and hearing them . . . all that makes a difference in the DG method sometimes. Then again with $10 or $20 max wagers what can you win with "pragmatic" analysis unless your Ruffian and a grey or a cat pays $50 on a $10 or $20 bet. Not knocking Ruff's approach at all . . . it works for her that's all that matters but I wonder how much real money she's ever won.

Time change, either way...jumping forward or falling back, the older I get the more of a PITA it is to get used to the time change. No bueno.
