Just wanted to note that I missed two weeks in row recently myself. One week I was down in Ocean City with no computer and the following week I was having problems with Comcast.
Quick story. A month ago I had Internet connection problems. Comcast told me my router had reached it's "end of life". So I bought a new one. Two weeks later I had Internet connection problems again. Comcast told me my modem had reached it's "end of life". So I bought a new one. "End of life" device with Comcast means a device needs to be replaced after being made obsolete due to changes in technology.
I called Comcast when I was ready to install the modem. (Comcast needs some #'s on the modem like the MAC #.) I was transferred to a higher level technician for some reason. He told me the problem was not my modem. It was a problem with the line coming into my house. An appointment was made for Comcast technician to come out to my house in 3 days.
One day later I was back online and nobody from Comcast was due to come out for 2 more days. Comcast called that afternoon and asked if I was connected again. I said I was. Comcast said it was an "external" problem of some sort and they fixed it. My appointment was cancelled and I got a credit on my net Internet bill. I also took back the new modem to the store where I bought it.
Why am I telling you all this? Because I don't want you to be spending money for nothing if you start going down this road with Comcast.
