In a heartbreaking turn, the colt took ill last week with a virus, began to refuse to nurse and succumbed earlier this evening.
Among 3 mares in 7 opportunities, have now lost 2 live foals and seen 2 others aborted in 3 years. Very tough..
Very sorry to learn of this news, Steve. Shame that nothing could be done for the colt. Having lost four from seven pregnancies/opportunities is a terrible turn of bad fortune. I wish there was something else I could say.
