I sure don't think the other way yet!! Leaders banged heads good and still ran 3-4.
Tell you what I did hear, and wish we had someone on laptop at Big A. Durkin said as they hit he backside that they were running into a strong wind.
Headwind on the backside will stop speed. tailwind carries it home.
Be nice if its gone. But I stil need to see more before I play the late pik-4.

Huge rail skimmer in the third, rides the rail and takes off like a jet.
I have firmly concluded that the rail is still the place to be, and that closing is possible due to the winds.
Check out the fractions in the race, 23:2, 47:4, 1:14:1
Like the last race the opening 1/4 was ok because they weren't into the wind yet.
Must be ferocious wind to slow them down that badly on the backside, then they crawl home due to the energy expense into the wind.
Its playable, all that matters is that you can close.

Northwest wind is a crosswind, they're running northeast up the backstretch...

I guess the rail is still strong but perhaps now that the pinheads have figured out about the track they are riding more aggressively and the leader isn't able to get quite as comfortable up front as days past. Plus, most of the horses that took advantage of the track this week were at least reasonably logical while today we have had two straight bad horses on the lead.
