Love and respect Balthazar King and hope he does it but these two, I would imagine, have a tremendous chance.

Hunt Ball has an entry in the Ryanair Chase during the Cheltenham Festival next month. Don't think he has a prayer, but.....

Balthazar King has been put away until the Grand National. He will no doubt run a place. I would rather see him win another cross-country during the Festival. Thought he would win the National last year, but there is always a light-weight that sneaks in there.

Yes of course he does and, for some reason, that escaped my brain the other day.

Well not too much to discuss about his run (of course I love him to death and had already accepted that this whole never actually winning thing should be treated as a rather endearing quality at this point) but what about restarting the race? Thoughts?

Atlantic Equine could write volumes on how to mismanage a racehorse. He tried today and raced into contention at the top of the hill, but ultimately was in way too deep (18th; beaten 40 lengths). All is not lost though, he's 10 years old and is eligible for Veteran's chases. Wonder if the ownership will have enough sense to go that route. Hopefully beforehand, they will find a really easy novice hurdle to win so that he will regain his confidence.

As for the start, I thought the first go was good. Don't like standing starts and it adversely affected my play, Monetaire, who might have gotten up to win had he not been disadvantaged at the start. Oh well, that's racing.

Still lots to look forward to. For me, I will be on Coneygree in the Gold Cup tomorrow and Balthazar King in the National next month.

Thanks for that and yeah, a confidence builder couldn't hurt.

Good luck with Coneygree tomorrow. Rooting for Bobs Worth but am thinking of playing Road to Riches. I like Many Clouds and think he has a good chance as well but would assume the odds on him come down (not exactly sure who the 2nd favorite is behind Silviniaco Conti but I'd guess it will be him by tomorrow morning),so will take a chance with RTR.
