Shared Belief is a step below California Chrome and Bayern in my opinion... good solid horse but Chrome woulda dusted him during the spring...

We will find out, with a fair break of course.

Todays race was weird with such a slow pace, 45 and change is unheard of in a race of that caliber at SA. Made it a closer finish but in the end the best horse won.

Shared Belief has a steadfast legion of fans, but realistically, was anyone particularly taken by today's performance? He had a very nice trip and ground out a workmanlike win over a 72-1 shot that just won a N1X on the turf. The 3rd place finisher set a moderate pace and looked like he was done at the 1/4 pole.

I think Shared Belief is a really nice horse. I also think he's better on synthetics than dirt and that could be problematic in 2015. We can all remain hopeful that he will square off with Bayern and California Chrome a few time in the coming months.

That maybe all correct.........except the moderate pace part, that was dawdling, if Chitu could not win that race with that setup he is never going to against top class horses.

totally agree. Excited to proven right or wrong in future. Either way I cant lose nor can racing. My gut tells me he is ordinary(relatively speaking) on dirt. I would try him on turf in future because he is a gelding and easier money to be made save the Main Sequence races.

Per Hollendorfer, "I wish I could train him at Santa Anita." "We have a full barn here. But he doesn’t get along with this track like he does Golden Gate, so we’re trying to do what’s best for him."

Why is GG best for SB? Why not keep him at SA and have him become more familiar with the surface?

Bad feet, he holds together better on the Tapeta.
