| Favorite Diner/Diner Meal Just made and devoured an open-faced hot meat loaf sandwich... My own meat loaf, (ask Hooves & Ateam about my meatloaf..), on a sesame semolina slice with a brown mushroom gravy... That prompts a thread-start... 1.) Your Favorite Diner or Luncheonette (must have a counter)... (I'll even allow Midwestern Tea Rooms as choices..) and.. 2.) Your Favorite Eats therein.. I'll start with three... FAMOUS LUNCH, TROY, NY: Miniature hot dogs in the "New York System" tradition with a Michigan style sauce. Hysterical joint in downtrodden downtown Troy. Since 1932 SWAN'S OYSTER DEPOT, SAN FRANCISCO (Polk & California): Unbelievable crab louis, oysters, shrimp, etc.. at the long counter. PONZIO'S, CHERRY HILL, NJ: Between the NJ Tpke and Philly.. About as quintessential as it gets for diner.. Hot Turkey Sandwich, Brown Gravy (NOT yellow, thanks..)
