In other words - if we're not going to do anything about it, don't rattle the sabre. That was the worst thing (barring being stupid enough to go to war with Russia, which thankfully he has not shown he is capable of yet) that he could have done.

He did the same thing regarding Syria and ironically it was Putin who bailed him out by brokering a "deal" regarding chemical weapons. Whether the deal was ever going to work was immaterial - he was embarassing the nation with his repeated "don't cross the red line" and then - once again - nothing.

or you can just admit that it wouldn't matter what obama says and does, it would be wrong and subject to criticism.
