No one has ever accused Jermaine of having a stop watch in his head.

In a more famous example of Jermaine badly misjudging the pace of a race ... here he is guiding #9 Stealcase to an 11th and last place finish while getting in a wrestling match with him in the Indiana Derby, as he stupidly tried to rate him behind a slow early pace. It's an especially humorous ride because he had the horse all over the track.

He does have a few decent qualities as a rider ... but his weakness at judging pace and adapting to the race as it unfolds is a big reason why he's not so well known.
