![]() You've gotta love this horse running in the third at Churchill tomorrow. Not saying he'll win but I love this horse's style and consistency, heart and knack for hitting the wire in front.
He's a seven year old gelding lifetime record 18 wins, 9 places, 12 shows from 59 starts! Top lifetime Beyer is only 89 and he races mainly at the secondary midwest tracks but has pulled down $280K lifetime. What I admire so much about him is that despite racing so many times, he doesn't have the type of form that you'd expect from an older runner with so many starts. He has speed but he is not a need the lead type. He shows up with almost the same effort every time. He gets out and battles each time and if there is any kind of opening he punches it home for the victory. Churchill is the big leagues for this guy as he is winless in three starts in Louisville, but you'd be crazy to leave him off any tri or super plays. actually this 32K claimer has several other tough veterans with very respectable records. Just wanted to point out this horse that I have enjoyed watching for several years. |
