Carter was one of those guys who had decent talent but delivered tremendous effort everytime he played. It's a shame these things happen.
Was also a great guy. I had the pleasure of spending about 90 minutes of one on one time with him when I was 15 as I tried to continue my dominance as Mid Suburban Catcher of the decade.
