Its enormity makes it unique and its atmosphere leaves it in the upper echelon of American racing.

Even as the quality of racing has slipped noticably over the past few racing seasons, the daily Belmont fare is surpassed only by Saratoga's.

Opening day of the spring meet is one of my favorite racing days of the season. Moving from Aqueduct to Belmont in early May mirrors the change of seasons. You feel rejuvenated by Belmont after a dreary winter and rainy April at "The Big A."

"Big Sandy" dseserves its moniker: Beautiful Belmont Park!

I can't agree more though Toga is as close to heaven I've ever been. Steve B. will never rest and that's why we all love him.....
