I probably know a little bit more than you about pricing horses, but even a fool knows a horses value goes up significantly with a grade 1 win. You don't sell the week before a grade 1 win. You might say Pletcher knows something and that is why he is selling him, but I can assure you the one person Pletcher would not rip off is Tabor. Scat Daddy will win tomorrow. Probably pretty easily unless the horse from over the pond lives up to his name.
And if he doesn't win, it goes down.
Stallion prospects are at a premium before being favored for a grade one win. Of course if they win it goes up, but if they don't it goes way down.
The parties most often meet in the middle, and since Tabor is a client and quite a good one, I'm sure Todd and his Dad "weren't stupid" in negotiating their deal.
