Default Confidance

I think Pletcher and Baffert had confidance they hd the best colts in there respective races Sat. One jockey made a bad error in tring to save ground and getting cut off. The other took control of the race and won without using the horse up. Thus setting him up to be fully cranked and ready for the Derby. While it appeared Gomez had confidance in his mout, his bigger mistake wasnt getting blocked but trying to makeup for his mistake maybe taking to much out of the colt and not realizing that these races are called preps for a reason and the goal is Ky. Did he use too much in this race or did he better prepare LAL for the Derby?
