The article I just read in the LA Times said LA got two inches of rain overnight.

Now for SoCal generally that can be dangerous, because it is sprawled over hills and valleys, so the rain runs off irregularly, leading to mudslides, etc.

But SA is not on a hill or in a ravine or the like. It is on the flats. 2 inches of rain is just 2 inches of rain, just like it would be a Calder or Saratoga. And there are many days Calder takes 2 inches of rain in an hour. Sloppy track--no big deal.
