The one thing I found wierd was, when I called the racing sec. office at Turf Paradise, I didnt have the words out of my mouth before the guys says "Well would you like his number?"...I said "Sure, is this the number to the barn?" and the guy goes, "No, its his cell phone".....I was shocked that they would give out someones personal number like that. Not that I am not glad that I was able to get in touch with him so quickly, but I just found it alittle strange.

For such a sad ending, those personal responses you received are very refreshing.

With regard to this sport, and to human nature.

I think we all here want to believe that all those around a horse and at the track where they run really do have an interest in the horse's well being.

I know it's a negative. But from my distance and detachment, it's at least more than a tad uplifting.
