Don't Forget Gil is named for Gil the Whitecap who has worked at the NY tracks going back to Jamaica. A very good man who is thrilled to death at how his namesake is doing ( even if it is a filly ).
Are you sure the horse isn't named for some irrelevant, has-been rocker's guitar?
