Delaware likely to OK sports betting

Las Vegas books have been criticized in recent years for their conservative sportsbook operations, but at least you can walk in make a straight wager. Serious sports bettors are straight bettors. Some will make parlays in certain situations, but generally they are single game bettors. I can see these places mobbed with 25 year old males betting small time $5 and $10 6 teamers. In my opinion, this will not generate the revenue they are hoping for. If they truly want to maximize their revenues, they need to open a legitimate sportsbook, and compete with the offshores and local bookmakers. I live in the Philadelphia area and would surely drive to Delaware to wager on some games I like. I will not however make the drive if I'm forced to parlay.

You can turn a two teamer parlay into a straight bet (by betting the side you like with both sides of another game), but you end up paying double juice, -125 usually. In Ontario they used to put out the lines early for NFL Sundays and sometimes there would be ones that were wayyyy off so it was actually worth it. Like I remember one specific time they had the Eagles at -3 when the real line was -12 or something...
