He broke poorly at Saratoga and lost all chance. This past race he was the favorite until late in the wagering which was absolutely ridiculous with a horse like Fabulous Strike in the field. Obviously though he was ruined by his previous loss and it could have nothing to do with the better competition or the slop.
And I'm not really sure how this is relevant at all. If Pepper's Pride ran in open company and lost then no one would care if she returned to NM bred races. I just think it is silly that they aren't even giving her the shot and that people actually care about the streak when it is against NM breds.
