You could sit in traffic for up to 2hrs just to get out of the stadium. You also can't drink if you drive. Atleast that is how I look at it. I drive into Yankee Stadium from right near belmont park and it takes forever. Shea is basically right around the corner.

If you aren't staying in NYC or near Yankee Stadium maybe you should drive but if you are staying in NYC a car is a waste.
